The Section of Biostatistics & Epidemiology
seeks to advance the fields of biostatistics and epidemiology
by supporting a broad range of educational
activities and fostering interdisciplinary research
programs with
a translational focus. Topics span diverse areas in
nutrition and chemoprevention, cancer etiology, environmental
epidemiology, molecular-genetic epidemiology, bioinformatics,
women’s and children’s health, diseases
of aging, medical imaging and statistical methods.
The
Section is housed within the Department of Community
and Family Medicine of Dartmouth Medical School and
works closely with the Norris Cotton Cancer Center,
Center
for Environmental Health Sciences at Dartmouth College,
Center for Evaluative Clinical Sciences and the Multidisciplinary
Clinical Research Center in Musculoskeletal Diseases.
The Section has eighteen faculty members, twelve of
which are tenure track faculty and includes several
with
joint
appointments (in Genetics, Medicine, Obstetrics and
Gynecology, Pediatrics), four with research appointments,
one
instructor
and one professor emeritus.
